The Eisenhower Middle School Viking Band received two Superior Sweepstakes trophies for the Beginning and Combined Bands at the Heartland Music Festival on May 2 in Guthrie.
The band also received the Rising Star Trophy for the Beginning Band.
Students who received individual awards are:
Xavier Hennessee, Outstanding Snare Drummer; Quay’Vion Williams, Outstanding Timpani Performance; Maison Hadden, Outstanding Snare Drummer; Jayden Rochon, Outstanding Euphonium Performance; and Tera Beard, Outstanding Tuba Performance.
Section awards include:
Combined Band, percussion, euphoniums and trumpets; Beginning Band, percussion, trombone and trumpets.
After the festival, students enjoyed some time at Frontier City.
