MacArthur Highlanders - Cross Country

Cross Country

Philosophy: The MacArthur Cross Country program is being built on a foundation of year-round hard work and dedication to the sport. We are a small, tight-knit group of individuals who work together as a team. Winning is defined by continuous improvement, and competing hard in every event. Our goal for 2019 is to improve daily, and represent the MAC Highlander Harriers well at the regional meet.

Accolades: . In their first year under Coach Ford, the Highlander’s improved tremendously and proved to be a competitive team in the region winning 1 meet, and placing in the top 3 in several others. The team fell short of their goals in 2016, finishing 8th at regionals and missing qualifying for State as Team. There were 2 state qualifiers in 2016. In 2017 and 2018 Daniel Nickell was our only state qualifier, but he represented the Highlanders extremely well, finishing as the State Runner Up in class 5A both years, earning All-State honors both years. In 2019 -2021 the Highlanders have qualified multiple runners for the state tournament.
