Dear Parents,\r\n

\r\n

On Friday, May 17th, we will be having our annual Beach Day activities. This letter is just to inform you that your child(ren) will be outside for approximately two hours participating in all kinds of games.\r\n

\r\n

Please help your child(ren) have a fun and exciting day by going over expectations with them. Students will be able to participate in a variety of water games, and have an opportunity to purchase goodies at our concession stand. Rules/expectations will be given by the classroom teachers before going outside. Disciplinary action will be taken for any student not following the rules/safety guidelines, to include removal from Beach Day. Students must follow and play the games as directed by the volunteer running the game. Students are encouraged to participate in every game before going back to their favorites again so all students get an opportunity to play.\r\n

\r\n

Students will be outside for two hours during their Beach Day time. You may want to put sunscreen on them before they leave home, or send a small bottle with them if they will be going out in the afternoon. Due to a possible risk of heat related illness, students are encouraged to hydrate the day prior, seek shade when needed, and inform an adult if they feel sick. Water bottles may be brought from home, or water will be available for purchase at the concession stand. There may also be a risk of slip and fall injuries. All of our Freedom administration and staff, as well as our volunteers, will be monitoring and proactive in all safety needs. Your child’s safety during this fun day is our biggest priority.\r\n

\r\n

Please help your child dress appropriately for the weather and school. Girls may wear bathing suits UNDER clothing, since they will be participating in water activities. Girls must have on a t-shirt, not a tank/halter top, and may wear appropriate length shorts over their bathing suit. Boys may wear bathing suit trunks with a t-shirt as long as they are school appropriate. Please send your child(ren) in tennis shoes or water shoes, NO FLIP FLOPS. Students will need to bring a towel and change of clothes. \r\n

\r\n

Sincerely,\r\n

\r\n
