Meetings
Activities, Events and Programs Sponsored by StuCo
So… want to be
involved? Here’s how!
-
Delegate-
The
simplest and easiest way to be in StuCo is to become a delegate. All that is
required to become a delegate is a petition with 25 signatures from
classmates, a 2.5 GPA and no suspensions or serious disciplinary referrals the year prior to applying. Delegates
are the voice of their classes and serve by working on committees. You
petition to be a delegate at the beginning of each school year.
-
Class Officer-
If
you are looking to be more active within StuCo, then sign-up to run for class
officer. There are four offices (president, vice president, secretary and
treasurer) that you can run for. These four people are the main
representatives from each grade and organize within their class everything
from class meetings and hallway designs to pep rally ideas. Class
Officers are elected in the spring.
-
StuCo Officer-
Have some ideas in mind of how you want to see StuCo run, then running for
StuCo officer is right up your alley. If you are elected StuCo president,
vice- president, secretary, treasurer or parliamentarian, then you will serve
on the executive board for StuCo. This means you will be in charge of
planning and running meetings, overseeing committees, and any other duties
that will ensure StuCo to run smoothly. Since this is such a big
responsibility, you must be a senior to run for StuCo office, unless you want
to run for parliamentarian, then you must be a junior. StuCo officers are
elected in the spring.
