Multi-Cultural Awareness Club

The goals of the MAC (Multi-Cultural Awareness Club) are as follows:

Acceptance of the cultural differences that arise from racial, religious, or ethnic diversity;

Promote unity by breaking down walls of ignorance;

Provide an environment of respect and openness;

Approach issues in an unbiased manner;

Explore and explode the myths and misunderstandings of each other;

Reduce prejudice through education and create awareness;

Carry new found knowledge into the outside world;

Reduce tension and friction by increasing cultural sensitivity;

To look past the outer surface and see the inner person; and have fun in learning.

 

The MAC sponsors events to highlight the various cultures represented here at

MacArthur High School :

La Fiesta, Oktoberfest, and the Black History Program.

Meetings take place 7th hour in room 224, Mr. Virgil's. Dues are $5.00 to join.
