The purpose of crime stoppers is to make our campus safer and crime free. It is coordinated by Mr. Jim Madden and the board of members are made up of several students. Their responsibility is to decide what rewards are paid out for tips received. Last year 17 tips came in, which resulted in 16 crimes solved. Reward money from the tips received last year totaled $535.00. Restitution, drugs seized, and goods returned to their rightful owners came to the grand total of $5870.00. When asked about the role kids play in the MacArthur crime stoppers organization, Mr. Madden replied, "I think the kids realize it is always best to do the right thing." Crime stoppers is definitely working for the better at MacArthur.
