Mrs. Pirtle is well known around MacArthur. She is the activities director for MHS and teaches a leadership course for elected and selected senior students as well as one junior. As a military spouse, she taught English and social studies at numerous high schools and was always totally involved. Her teaching experiences were varied, including teaching at the college level, in the prison system, and overseas. Mrs. Pirtle's educational  background consists of B.S. in Secondary Ed at the University of Alabama and M.Ed. in Administration from Georgia State University. Mrs. Pirtle has had numerous nominations for Who's Who Among American High School Teachers. She choose teaching because women's options were limited when she was in school, and she had felt like teaching best fit her personality. She keeps her students motivated by being organized and enthusiastic. So if you are in MHS's hallways stop by and say hi to this lovely lady.
