She taught special education at Swinney Elementary for 2 years. Prior to working at Swinney Mrs. Stephens worked briefly as a LD teacher at Brockland, Hugh Bish, and Edison Elemetaries. She also worked for City of Lawton as first Youth Services Coordinator organizining public events for youth and creating a community youth board-(the Civic Counsel) for 2 years. For 5 years she worked at DHS as a child abuse investigator and social worker. Mrs. Stephens has a BS degree in Family Science from Cameron University. In addition to that she also has a M.Ed. in Educational Psychology from the University of Oklahoma. She is also working towards getting a Ph.D. in Pastoral Counseling.
