We believe that children are our future.
We believe each and every child has the potential to bring something unique and special to the world.  We believe that the learners of today need to be prepared to become successful citizens so they may step into future leadership roles.  This is done by helping children develop their full potential as learners by believing in them as capable individuals. We assist children in discovering who they are as learners so they will be able to appropriately express their opinions and communicate their ideas to others.  We believe that not only is it important for today’s learners to be able to compute, evaluate, and make informed decisions, but to learn to cooperate and work together, too.  We believe that teaching students cooperative and team skills will help them to learn to respect, accept, and embrace the differences between each other so they can bring out the best in each other.  Finally, we believe this is to be accomplished through parents, teachers and students working together.  Doing this will make a difference in the life of your child and every child who attends Country Club Heights.

Country Club Heights Practices Great Expectations
Country Club Heights is not a Great Expectations Model School, but more than 90% of our staff has been trained in Great Expectations Methodology.  Great Expectations Methodology is comprised of seventeen research based best practices of teaching.  The core of Great Expectations is centered around the following life principles.  We call them “Eight Expectations for Living”.  We use these expectations when providing discipline for our students.

.      Important Information About Our School:
Arrival - The safety of your children is of the utmost importance to you and to us, with this in mind children should not arrive at the school before 8:45 AM. When students arrive at 8:45 they should immediately go to the gym where they will be supervised by a teacher. Each morning in the gym there will be a short daily flag salute assembly before students are taken to class from the gym.  If a student arrives after the assembly, they should go directly to their classrooms unless it is after 9:00. All late arrivals (after 9:00 AM) must stop by the office to get a tardy slip.  Breakfast is served in the classrooms from 8:45 - 9:00 daily and is followed by Morning Rise and Shine and announcements every day except Friday. Fridays are special at C.C.H. because at 2:45 PM we have a "Cowboy Round-up Assembly", a school-wide assembly to recognize Star Students, share accomplishments and achievements.  This ends our school week on a positive note. Parents are always welcome and we encourage you to attend.

Dismissal - The school day ends at 3:45 and teaching and learning take place right up until the 3:45 dismissal bell. However, we realize there might be an occasion when you must pick up your child earlier than 3:45. In that instance, the student must be signed out through the office and only those adults listed on the student's enrollment form (parents, guardians, & emergency contacts) may sign them out. If you transport your child by personal vehicle, please remember that students must be picked up at 3:45 as Country Club Heights does not offer after school daycare.

Visitors, Volunteers and P.T.A. - We value you as a partner in your child's education. We love to have parents volunteer at C.C.H. and have a variety of ways you can help: volunteer in your child's classroom, listen to a student read aloud, or volunteer to help with special events. Please remember: When visiting our school, you must stop at the front office and get a visitor’s pass before entering any classroom. Another opportunity to volunteer is through our P.T.A. Our P.T.A. has a popcorn/pickle/candy sale every Friday afternoon which requires several adults to make it successful. They also sponsor a variety of school-wide events (including carnivals, Box Tops for Education fund-raiser, and a host of other events) throughout the year. Make a difference in your child's school experience. Get involved in our PTA.

Communication with Parents - We believe in establishing and maintaining positive communications with our students' families. One way we accomplish this goal is by sending out a C.C.H. Newsletter every other week. These newsletters contain important dates to remember, tips from our counselor, and other important information you'll want to be aware of. Another important means of communication between school and home is your child's daily planner. Please remember to review it daily with your child.

Cafeteria/Food Services - Breakfast is free and made available to every student. It is served 8:45 - 9:00 in the classrooms. Lunch begins at 11:30. Students may buy lunch at school or bring lunch from home. Applications for free or reduced lunches are available and should be returned to the Food Service Department promptly. Until eligibility in the Free/Reduced Meal Program is established, students will be charged full price for lunches. Lunches should be paid for in advance, preferably in weekly or monthly increments. All money sent for your child's lunches goes into an account just for that child. As lunch purchases are made, the specified amount is automatically deducted from your child's account. You will be notified in writing via a "collection envelope" when your child's remaining account balance gets low. If you have questions regarding your child's account, please notify Mrs. Palmer, our Accutab cashier, between 9:00 and 2:00 Monday - Friday.
