Saturday math classes still enrolling
LPS is offering a replacement mathematics class for students in grades 8-12 who need assistance with Algebra I, Algebra II or geometry. The class meets from 8 a.m.-noon on five consecutive Saturdays, beginning Feb. 6.
Although the class is open to all students, the target audience is for students making a grade of C or lower. The course is designed to help students not only increase their letter grade, but increase knowledge in their specific math field. Small classes will enable one-on-one instruction. Students whose grades improve in the Saturday class have the option of using it to replace a grade earned during the second quarter of the first semester.
To obtain an application, students should contact their school counselor. Because of the recent weather, the enrollment period has been extended to Feb. 5.
