Superintendent


Barry Beauchamp Barry Beauchamp serves as superintendent of the Lawton Public Schools.

He is a Lawton native and product of the Lawton Public Schools.

Beauchamp joined the LPS staff in 1974 as a math teacher and coach. He also served three years as a junior high counselor before joining the district administrative staff in 1985.

In 1994 Beauchamp was named as the district’s executive director of business and fiscal services. He became superintendent in January 2000.

Beauchamp holds degrees from Cameron University, Southwestern Oklahoma State University, and the University of Oklahoma. He is involved in numerous community and civic organizations, and is a member of Lawton’s First Baptist Church.

Beauchamp serves on boards of the National Association of Federally Impacted Schools, the Oklahoma Association Serving Impacted Students, and the Oklahoma Public School Investment Pool. From 1991 until 1999 he served as a member of the Lawton Teachers’ Federal Credit Union Board of Directors.

Beauchamp was a member of Congressman J.C. Watts’ Educational Advisory Committee. He is also an appointed member of Oklahoma Governor Frank Keating’s Teenage Pregnancy Prevention Task Force.

Beauchamp and his wife Neta are parents of two sons.
