I graduated from Northwestern Oklahoma State University in 1978 with a bachelor degree in police science and a minor in military science. After being commissioned as a field artillery officer, I served 14 years on active duty and 6 years in the reserves in the US Army from 1978 to 1998 reaching the rank of major. While serving, I earned a master degree in business management from Webster University in 1991. After the Army, I attended Cameron University and received my elementary education degree in 1994. From 1994 - 1999, I taught grades 4th thru 6th at Roosevelt and Almor West Elementary Schools. In 1999, I earned my elementary principal certification through the University of Oklahoma. During the 1999 - 2000 school years, I was assigned as an assistant principal at the Douglass Learning Center. At the beginning of the 2000 school year, I was assigned as principal at Country Club Heights Elementary from 2000 – 2004. In the fall of 2004 through the spring of 2012, I served eight years as principal of Park Lane Elementary. From 2012 -2014, I served as principal of Edison Elementary. I recently completed one year as principal of Brockland Elementary before its closing on May 2015. This is my 20th year with the Lawton Public Schools.

As one of the newest members at Cleveland, I am very excited to join their team. My policy has always been the “Open Door Policy.” Being new to the school, please come by and visit so I can get to know each of you. I believe we should always put children first. If we do, all our decisions will be fair and beneficial for the student. I have been married to Geraldine Prince, counselor at Ridgecrest Elementary, for 36 years. We have four children and five grandchildren. I am a very active member of Rose Hill Church of Christ and my fraternity Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. in helping the community of Lawton-Ft Sill. “Soaring Higher Than Expectations! Go Falcons!"
