Lawton, OK: Supporting the fight for a cancer-free world, MacArthur High School’s Key Club will hosts its 15th Annual American Cancer Society Relay for Life event January 14-15 from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. in the MHS main gymnasium, 4400 E. Gore Boulevard.
“The best part of Relay is the sense of community,” said Raegan Kennedy, MHS student coordinator. “Everyone is gathered for a great cause, and I feel that we are making a difference in the fight against cancer.”
The Opening Ceremony will start at 7:30 p.m. with a Survivor Lap – an inspiring time where participants honor cancer survivors’ incredible journey. Events and activities are scheduled throughout the event to include hair donations at 9 p.m. and a luminary ceremony at 10 p.m.
“It really is an honor to be a part of this event. You get to work with some amazing people and put on an event that is fun and brings others closer,” said Kennedy.
The event is free and open to the public until midnight. Donations will be accepted with all proceeds going to the American Cancer Society.
