Attention: Gateway Success Center is currently looking for interested high schools students in the Lawton area to apply and attend OPEN INTERVIEWS this week. Interviews will go until Friday, March 10, 2017. Those students who are accepted into the program will begin the Gateway program the week immediately after SPRING BREAK, March 20-24.
What is Gateway Success Center? Gateway is an alternative high school program which serves grades 9-12 and provides services to high school students from Eisenhower High School, Lawton High School, MacArthur High School, and are in a partnership with Geronimo Public Schools.
What does Gateway Success Center offer? Class size is small with usually no more than fifteen students per class; other available services are credit recovery and a flexible schedule. Gateway takes pride in this successful offering of a small student to teacher ratio plus a rapid availability of high school credits.
What makes up a Gateway semester schedule? Gateway follows a block schedule composed of four nine-week blocks. One nine week block is the equivalent of a traditional eighteen-week semester.
What does the Gateway daily schedule contain? Each day begins with a fifteen minute homeroom period followed by four seventy-minute periods. The Gateway school day starts at 8:15 A.M. and ends at 1:45 P.M.
Graduation: Even though a student may be attending Gateway, he/she will still receive a diploma from the home school.
Gateway Success Center is a stand-alone alternative school program within Lawton Public Schools which offers a non-traditional route to achieve a high school diploma.
