\r\n

What?     Freedom Elementary’s Third Annual Beach Week Talent Show AUDITONS\r\n

\r\n

When?    Beginning Monday, April 30th \r\n

\r\n

Who?      Interested students in grades K-5 \r\n

\r\n

Why?      To have a chance at being one of the acts in our talent show this year.  There are no fees and no prizes,   but we are limited by time, so not everyone that auditions will make the show!\r\n

\r\n

Where?  Freedom Elementary, Blue Gym  (location for auditions and the show)\r\n

\r\n

How?   Fill out and return your signed permission slip by Wednesday, April 24th, and prepare for your   audition as indicated below:  \r\n

\r\n

  \r\n

\r\n

1.  Music, movements, attire, and behavior must follow school handbook guidelines. \r\n

\r\n

2.  Provide your own school appropriate costumes and props for auditions and, if selected, the performance.        (If you don’t wear a costume to auditions, any costume you wish to wear for the show must be pre-        approved.  We will provide a gymnastics mat or piano if needed.  No live animals, please!) \r\n

\r\n

3.  Provide your own music for your act.  Vocalists will need an instrumental (or karaoke track without \r\n

\r\n

vocals) of their song, or may sing a capella (without accompaniment).  Music is not required for any act,          but will definitely help with showmanship.  You may play a song from an MP3 device, IPOD/IPAD, tablet, or          phone, however the device may only be used for the AUDITIONS.   We will need an MP3 copy of your song          for the show if your student makes it.  For auditions and your convenience, you may email  Ms. Owens at          sowens@lawtonps.org  and provide a link to your song on YouTube.  Please make sure any songs on CD          or thumb drives are in MP3 format and bring/email your song by April 24th.  \r\n

\r\n

4.  Students are allowed to be in only one act. \r\n

\r\n

5.  Groups are limited to six students.  Groups may include any Freedom students in grades K-5th.  Pre-K siblings      may be included in an act featuring a family which includes students in K-5th.  To include someone outside of our      school, please consult with one of our specials teachers.\r\n

\r\n

6.  Acts are limited to 3 1/2 minutes.\r\n

\r\n

7.  Acts that are chosen to perform cannot be changed in any way from the audition, except at the                  discretion of the directors or administration.  \r\n

\r\n

8.   Be ready to perform at auditions on April 30th, although you may be called later in the week up until May 1st.\r\n

\r\n

_____________________________________ has my permission to audition for and, if selected, participate in the Freedom Elementary Beach Week Talent Show.  I understand we must provide our own music or props and that all talent must be school appropriate.  I know that my child needs to be ready to audition during his/her specials time on Monday, April 30th, as time allows, and continue until May 1st. We are aware that he or she must prepare and practice on his or her own time. We are aware that all participants are subject to the LPS 2019 Student Handbook code and must be academically in good standing.\r\n
