Ms. Shanklin was born and raised in Lawton and attended Washington Elementary School, Central Junior High, and Lawton High School. She received her bachelor’s degree from Cameron University and her master’s degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State University, in Weatherford, Oklahoma. She has a master’s degree in Administration and Reading and ahs been an educator for 31 years. Ms. Shanklin started her career at Carriage Hills Elementary where she taught fourth grade for eleven years. She then served as an Assistant Principal at Sheridan Road Children’s’ School before becoming the Principal of Eisenhower Elementary. After serving for six years as the Principal at Eisenhower Elementary, she transferred to Sheridan Road Children’s School where she has been for the last fourteen years.

  Ms. Shanklin has two wonderful children who are also products of the Lawton Public Schools. Her daughter, Sarah, graduated from MacArthur High School in 1994 and is currently teaching second grade in Texas. Her son, Bradley, just graduated from MacArthur High School and is currently attending Cameron University. She has two beautiful grand children that she dearly loves who also live in Texas.

  Ms. Shanklin truly loves working with the military children and their families. She feels so blessed being at Sheridan Road Children’s School for the last fourteen years.
