About Us
We are a school of around 1300 ethnically diverse students in grades 6, 7 and 8. We are located on the west side of Lawton and are the oldest middle school in Lawton. We are very proud of our tradition which is evident as you walk through our school.
We have several extra-curricular activities and clubs. Please click on the links at the top of the page to get information on specific clubs and activities.
Our school uses a wide variety of cutting edge teaching techniques as well as traditional teaching methods.
-
Our teachers are organized in teaching teams. Each team consists of an English, Math, Science, Reading, History or Social Studies teacher, and a co-teacher. The co-teacher spends one hour or more a day in each subject area classroom and is available for assistance to students at any time.
-
We use computer lab teaching and tutoring as well as "hands-on" learning in most of our classes.
-
We offer remediation for any 8th grade student who was not successful on the 7th grade Reading and Math CRT (state mandated test).
-
We have a MALL ( Mastery Academic Learning Lab) which offers one-on-one tutoring and assistance to students on assignments, tests, projects, etc.
