Title I Improving the Academic Achievement of the Disadvantaged
The purpose of this title is to ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and reach, at a minimum, proficiency on challenging state academic achievement standards and state academic assessments. This purpose can be accomplished by ensuring that high quality academic assessements, accountability systems, teacher preparation, and training, curriculum, and instructional materials are aligned with challenging state academic standards so that students, teachers, parents, and administrators can measure progress against common expectations for student academic achievement.

Title II Part A Improving Teacher and Principal Quality
The purpose of the Title II Part A program as authorized by the No Child Left Behind legislation is to provide grants to LEAs in order to:
Increase student academic achievement through strategies such as improving teacher and principals quality and increasing the number of highly qualified teachers in the classroom and highly qualified principals in schools. Hold LEAs and schools accountable for improvements in student academic achievement.
Title II Part D Educational Technology
The purpose of the Title II Part D is to support a comprehensive system, as demonstrated by the District Technology Plan, for the acquisition and use by elementary and secondary public schools of technology, technology enhanced curricula, instruction, professional development activities focused on the use of educational services. This system will include ongoing, sustained, and intensive, high-quality professional development, involving all schools professional staff, in the integration of advanced technologies into curricula and instruction, and in using those technologies to improve teaching and learning.
Title III - Limited English Proficient Subgrant
This subgrant is designed for local educational agencies (LEAs) that enroll one or more LEP students and must be of sufficient size and scope to allow such entities to carry out high quality language instruction educational programs for LEP children.
Title VII - Indian Education Formula Grant
Title VII is a federally funded program designed to meet the needs of Native American students. Our goals and objectives are to promote and enhance positive school performance and academic achievement, reduce dropout rates and absentees, and to enrich understanding of the Native American culture. The Title VII formula grant program provides additional help for students who are Native American and are at risk of not being able to reach adequate yearly progress on the CRT's offered in grades 3-8 as well as secondary students in grades 9-11 that take the end of the year instruction test. Each student must have a Title VII Student Eligibility Certification (506 Form) on file in the Federal Programs office, and meet eligibility requirements of the program to receive services that may be offered.
Children and Youth in Transition
It is the policy of our district to view children as individuals. Therefore, this policy will not refer to children as homeless; it will instead use the term "children and youth in transition." In accordance with the requirements of the Federal McKinney Homeless Assistance Act, (homeless children) children and youth in transition must (shall) have access to the same free and appropriate public education as provided to other children, including preschool, and be given as full opportunity to meet state and local academic achievement standards. All students must be included in state and district wide assessments and accountability systems. (The Board shall make reasonable efforts to identify homeless children within the district, encourage their enrollment, and eliminate existing barriers to their education that may exist in district policies or practices.) Our schools will ensure that children and youth in transition are free from discrimination, segregation, and harassment. (No child or youth shall be discriminated against in this school district because of homelessness.)
